Log Cabin Republicans of Cleveland endorse four
Cleveland-This year there are not many Republican candidates on the ballot. In races for Cleveland council, only four registered Republicans are running. In each case the members of Log Cabin Republicans in Cleveland did not seek to endorse.
In the race for Cleveland mayor there is no registered Republican. Both candidates, Jane Campbell and Raymond Pierce, have actively courted the gay vote.
As a Republican organization, we are prohibited from endorsing Democrats, but

Log Cabin Columbus is pleased with 5 candidates
Columbus-Log Cabin Republicans of Columbus are hesitant to use the term endorse, but five candidates have caught their eye.
"As an organization, we are pleased with the slate the county party has put out. They are diverse and sensitive to the needs of all constituents including gays and lesbians," said Bill Brownson, the public policy director of the Columbus Log Cabin Republicans and vice-chair of the national
board of the Log Cabin Republicans.
The group is "especially pleased" with: Jeff Cabot and Ruth McNeil for Columbus School Board;
"They have a keen understanding of the need to provide safe schools for all." Brownson said;
Stu Harris and Sally Gibson for Columbus City Council; and,
Kim Brown for Columbus City Attorney.
Stonewall Dems endorse in Cleveland and two suburbs
Cleveland-The Cleveland Stonewall Democrats have made endorsements for mayor and council in Cleveland, and in two suburban council elections.
"We were pleased to find that so many candidates and current elected officials held so many favorable stances on issues important to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community," said Cleveland Stonewall Democrats president Patrick Shepherd. "As a result, our members struggled with decisions in a variety of races. We hope that many of the unendorsed candidates run for elective office again so that they can try to support them in a future race."
The complete slate of endorsed candidates is:
Cleveland

many Log Cabin members, individually, have been supporting Campbell.
We have chosen to endorse three candidates in suburban races.
In Bay Village, Log Cabin Cleveland chooses Deborah Sutherland for mayor and David L. Tadych for city council, Ward-1. Sutherland is currently serving as mayor. She was appointed earlier this year after then-mayor Tom Jelepis left to go to the Board of Elections. She is a well qualified, dedicated individual
his commitment to Lakewood over the last several years. He has a strong grip on the most important issues in Lakewood and is committed to finding solutions to more controversial issues, including domestic partner benefits.
We believe the GLBT community in Lakewood should give Ryan Demro the chance to prove his commitment to our community and

whose door-and mind--is open to all Bay Village citizens.
Sutherland has proven herself in the role over the last year and deserves to be elected. She is someone with a bright future for Bay Village and maybe, someday, for Northeast Ohio. We look forward to developing a continuing relationship with Mayor Sutherland.
David L. Tadych has been a long time member and supporter of Log Cabin Republicans of Cleveland. He has been involved in the Bay Village community for over 20 years. His extensive business background and community service make him the strongest candidate for council in perhaps any of the Wards in Bay village. He too will be a strong voice for all residents of Bay village.
In Lakewood, there are two Republicans on the ballot. Only one is worthy of endorsement by Log Cabin Cleveland.
Ryan Demro is our choice for city council at large. Demro is running for one of the three available seats on the ballot. He is a young, articulate individual who has demonstrated
to Lakewood as a whole.
In addition, many Log Cabin members are individually supporting incumbent councilman Mike Skindell and Denis P. Dunn.
In Shaker Heights, Brian Parker is running for election to the city council seat he was appointed to earlier this year. Parker is a genuine moderate Republican who will offer a fresh perspective on Shaker Heights Council. He has been a strong advocate for an all-inclusive Republican party and has actively supported Log Cabin members involved in other Republican organizations. Brian's professional background makes him well qualified to serve the residents of Shaker Heights.
Please consider our choices. If you live in Bay Village, Deborah Sutherland for mayor and David L. Tadych for council in ward 1. In Lakewood, Ryan Demro for council at large. And in Shaker Heights, Brian Parker for city council. In any case, please be sure to vote on November 6.
Log Cabin Republicans of Cleveland are currently working to re-build our club. If you are interested in being a part of the effort, please contact Mike Flickinger at 216-696-7343 or John Farina at 216226-2055.
